Never had any issues, easier fitment than the one I bought. I just thought the converter wasn't in a good location in the bay.

Ah yea sorry, yep that has a cat in it. It was on the car when I got it. There is a tab on it that says XSPOWER products so high chance its this product: http://xs-power.com/toyota-turbo-downpipes-dump-pipes-3.htm

Sorry, no cat in that downpipe, I'm in the progress of amending the system to have a hi flow cat just after the sump and before the rear muffler. Similar to what Marty did in his SW20 on MCM.

What is that downpipe with a cat in it? I'm currently on the search for a new downpipe but I don't want to have to run catless

Continuing with the Isolation mods I've had a box of bolts I got with this car when I bought it years ago, I didn't really touch them as I hate how its unorganised. I purchased an organiser of eBay and sorted through them. I was happy to find some bolts that were useful and the rest just got sorted for future use.

I've also been so worried about heat in this car and heat soaking IC components and the IC itself. While a W2A system would solve the issue its expensive and I don't have the money for it yet. What I did have the money for is a new dump pipe without a catalytic converter in the middle like the one I have

As these run at 600 degrees or so its not ideal to have it right next to the AC compressor and IC so I got a new one on eBay for $150

They've now increased the price of it to $250 sadly but it is a nice bolt on upgrade despite it being just generic branded. To keep the temps down I heat wrapped it which I've had controversial opinions on but it wasn't worth the cost of ceramic coating. It'll be better than what it was thats for sure

It was a pain to fit, as it always is but it bolted on, more care could of been had in manufacturing to the location of the studs and clearance but its worth what I paid.

The following weekend I started out wanting to investigate a loose sway bar and ended up fixing studs and painting my valve cover. When I fitted the above dump pipe I had to use rusty studs for the O2 sensor location so I got some more to change out but it snapped in the dump pipe and would not come out with an easy out. So I grinded it flat, drilled out a little to the left and re-tapped M8 thread

I didn't have a helicoil kit and have limited tools and space so this is how it will be for now. Happily the valve cover came out much nicer and I took the time to swap out bunnings bolts for SS socket head screws with neoprene SS washers

and because I'm an instagram influencer now (insert sarcasm here) I also took a picture of my car running with no faults.

Can you share the link to the clips and confirm the fitment? I bought some a while ago and they were a loose fit

I got these yesterday and re-did all the interior trim panels apart from the dash. They aren't a direct OEM replacement but they work well enough to secure trim and fitment is good

In another isolation mod I decided to properly fix the catch can inlet hose. It's been kinked bad because of having to run from cam cover, towards front of car then loop back to rear of car where I placed the can.

This is probably not good for airflow or the can's ability to catch crap. Can sort of see it in this below pic:

Also the hose was perfect size for the catch can but terrible for the cam cover, see the terrible fitment here

I ordered some AN-10 hose and 5/8 brass elbow joins from china. I thought about AN fittings but when brass does the same job for a fraction of the price I'll use that, plus it's not a high pressure hose.

I painted them black and some hose clamps for the OEM style

Got it all hooked up as neat as possible and job was done for under $10

What's this about cancer foam?

Commonly a UK issue where there's salt on the roads and they have leaking targa tops. The idea is that Toyota put the foam in there to help with engine noise. However for cars that leaked water was able to get in behind the seatbelts into the area behind the side intakes and get absorbed by this foam which would press on the metal and corrode the body away. Taking the foam out prevents this from happening.

Given this whole isolation thing it's a great time to work on the car. I've started by jumping on the MR2OC bandwagon and removing the cancer foam, no its not an issue in Australia but better having it out rather than in there.

Happily there was only one on the passenger side and even more happily there's no rust even with a leaking sunroof.

Also bought 100 interior clips off eBay that should arrive soon so I can fix the broken interior panels.
