I'm swapping in a new exhaust instead which makes the flex pipe redundant in my case. Its still untouched and in the bubble wrap from when I got it. PM me if you're interested.
Re: Really tinny noise form engine or exhaust (madman)

OK scrap that, just the flex pipe. Any recommendations of where to get one?

Really tinny noise form engine or exhaust (madman)

Gday all, 6 weeks ago or so I've developed a really noisy rattle coming from the underside of the engine bay. Did some research and thought I'd have it sorted tightening the exhaust and manifold heat shields. Sure enough the 1990 sw20 n/a did have a few loose and snapped bolts, all replaced including tension washers where the heat shield just met a heat shield. Made absolutely no difference. The bush that takes the weight of the exhaust isn't 100% but doesn't look too bad.

Wondering if the cat has finally disintegrated or a baffle in the muffler maybe? Bit the bullet and took it to a mechanic which I rarely do, they couldn't figure it out either. First time at that mechanic so may have not been interested in a 25 year old car. He didn't charge me so not bothered.

Exhaust itself sounds fine and only get the noise under load when accelerating, idling no no noise, quick blip on the throttle no noise.

Will bull all the shields off then the cat but if anyone has experienc d this before I'd love some ideas to try.

Cheers all
