Check the number of flutes and the size, make sure the kit has what you need. There are a lot for sale, I paid $55 free delivery for mine so shop around a bit don't pick the one off the link.

You can get oil filter cups, that fit to the end of the filter so you can remove and tighten to correct torque without damaging them. They sell them on ebay for like $55. Use these commonly on European cars that have filter cartridges but work on all filters with the correct number of flutes (edges).

Well done. I normally drive the screwdriver through the side. Roughly where the line and "3" is. Any other jobs you plan on doing have a look at there are a few good how to which may help.

I found that removing the wheel and driving a screw driver in through the side (all the way so the handle is flush with the filter). This will allow just enough to space to start turning. You'll need to do it a few times then it will undo by hand. If you still have problems run a fine blade around the rubber gasket to break the seal.

That Toledo one is an online only or can order in at supercheap. They stock a 2 jaw or the strap type. Of all the supercheap choices I'd recommend the mentioned strap type or order the three jaw Toledo.

You sound like you need a quick turnaround though.

If the filter is on very tight, (and they often are) I have heard that the top nut can shear off with those.

I had a similar issue with my starlet gt. I now buy the K and N wrench off filters. So much less hassle, and good quality filters too.

I think the genuine stock Toyota filter (90915-YZZE1) is 65 mm with 14 flutes so this tool should fit, but you would have to take in a new filter with you to make sure it fits.
