I popped u a pm. Just wondering if u are still around on the forums much?

Re: Nelson's 2ZZ AW11 (Matts_SW20)

What an awesome build man, having owned a 2ZZ celica and now the Sdub I know you've got a winning combination there. The 2ZZ looks so much neater with its fancy plastic engine cover haha. Are you still using the adub dash just revving all the way to 8K? haha.
Re: Nelson's 2ZZ AW11 (NELLY G)

Hoonsy,
Thanks! It definitely does hey! Looks aren't the only advantage though ;)

seasalt,
The invoice I received was from JustJap, although the half cut was listed on eBay under an account called jdmperformace_2008 or something like that. I have seen any half cuts listed by them since. I'm not sure if they still do them. As Barry said, it's probably just easier to find a wrecked Celica from the auctions or something like that.

sweetpete,
I still have those parts lying around! Send me a message if you'd like to buy them.

jerome.stanjovic
For sure! Will you be going to the QLD March Club Run?

5SGTE,
I would highly recommend it! It makes the car so much more enjoyable to drive!

barry,
The total spend of the build by the end of it was close to $3k, which is not too bad in my opinion!

Re: Nelson's 2ZZ AW11 (barry)

How much did ya end up spending? You can get them for about $1200.
I got one from gumtree for $800 that the person had bought from the auctions because it had 'cool wheels'. He kept the wheels, i got me a celica.
Nearly everything you need for your conversion.

Re: Nelson's 2ZZ AW11 (seasalt)

Nelson, earlier in the thread you said "The half cut cost $1550 from Just Jap in Sydney! (or do they just not list them on site?)
Re: Nelson's 2ZZ AW11 (Hoonsy)

That's awesome, good job mate. (With the key, first start was me hotwiring the car as I wasn't sure which wire was the starting wire, turned out it was a wire in the Celica fusebox <img src="https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/upfiles/smiley/s13.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" />)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xecI7Uk_4Ro&feature=youtu.be
This is the first ever successfully completed 2ZZ into an AW11 to my knowledge! Thanks to everyone from support from the forums and everyone else involved. Special thanks from Mark (flying_wedge) from MR2 OC NZ who gave me some very helpful information and diagrams! For those of you who don't know, Mark also has a 2ZZ AW11 in New Zealand.
Re: Nelson's 2ZZ AW11 (NELLY G)

Here it is! All bolted in and almost ready to start!
Before:

After:

It looks like it was meant to be there! The headers I used was made for 2ZZ Spyder swaps, here they are in better detail below:

They are a 4-2 style made to bolt up to an MR2 Spyder B-Pipe

WIRING>>>

This was my first time wiring a car... It was nowhere near as hard as I thought it would be! I retained the Celica's Engine fuse box and merged it into the AW11's body harness, most of the wires joined were on the N1 plug plug which is found in the boot. If anyone decides to do this conversion I am more than happy to help throughout the process!
Re: Nelson's 2ZZ AW11 (NELLY G)

Decided to unbolt the transmission from the engine to check the clutch.
Took the clutch off to discover that it was on it way out, I believe the is the OEM clutch since new.

Replaced it with an ACT Clutch, which isn't as heavy as I thought it would be. Slightly heavier than the clutch that was in the 4AGE.

Managed to track down a set of SW20 axles, all the way down in Melbourne!

Tested them before hand and they fit perfectly!

Sadly I didn't have anyone to take photos whilst I was putting the 2ZZ in, but I can take more detailed photos of the water lines, mounts etc if anyone would like to see!

Re: Nelson's 2ZZ AW11 (NELLY G)

Hi Everyone, it's been quite a while since I have updated this thread, but the swap was successful!
Continuing on from earlier...
The 4AGE just before removal, nothing fancy

Unfortuneately I didn't take photos for most of the removal process, but, here's the engine and transmission coming out the bottom of the car!

Second time removing the engine from a car, didn't take as long as removing the engine and transmission from the Celica!
Speed sensor from the C52 dropped straight in.

The C60 shares the same bolt pattern and mounting points as the c52, so all 3 mounts were a direct bolt on swap.

Pictured here is the passenger side mount

The C52's shifter forks were also transferred onto the C60, so the C52's shifter cable bracket could be used without much modification. Another alteration which was made to the C60 was flipping the selector shaft components upside down, which was a fairly simple job. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of this process, but hopefully I can explain it with the image below. (Ignore the labels)

The two components with the black studs in them were essentially flipped so they faced up. This is so the shift pattern isn't upside down.
Re: Nelson's 2ZZ AW11 (Falcon)

Hi Nelson. Good to see you making progress and thanks for keeping us informed with pictures too.
Ive also been running up and down chasing correct belt fitment.
Have you been able to source the axles yet?
