Not only was the fitment between the sealing face and support bracket not right, the sealing face was also not 'true'.
I tried installing anyway just to make sure, it bolted down fine, but wasn't sealing to the oil pump.
I even blew down the pickup, and could feel air escaping from the seal...

Has anyone come across this before? The pickup hasn't been mishandled since removal.

Does anyone know if the Gen2 3SGTE or 3SGE pickups are the same as the Gen3 3SGTE?
Toyodiy lists two different part numbers but that doesn't always mean much.

I can get a new Gen3 pickup from Bradstreet Parts for ~$70, but the 3 week wait from Japan is less than ideal.

Thanks.
