It’s very sad how we do business nowadays..

Thu 11 June:
- discussed the car details with the seller over the phone/email.

Fri 12 June:
- Made an offer, and received in writing “OK SOLD”
- Transferred a deposit and asked for the car to be advertised as sold (which didn't happen)
- Did a inspection and test drive over SKYPE. (I’m in Adelaide obviously; the subject car is in Sydney)
- Transferred 55% of the price to the seller (couldn’t transfer the whole amount due to external transfer restrictions)
- Organised and paid for car transport from Sydney to Adelaide.

Sat 13 June:
- I transferred the remaining amount. Full agreed price is now paid.

Sun 13 June:
- Just waiting for the $ to land in the seller's account.

Monday 15 June:
- I received “I got a better offer from someone else, I will refund you the amount plus your transport costs” from the seller.
- By now the whole amount I paid is sitting in the seller's bank account.
- I offered $1K on top of what I paid.. but apparently I was still $500 short of what the “other guy” offered.
- The seller refunded the amount plus the transport costs, which I must admit is fair from a financial point of view. (but obviously I don't want the money, I want the car..)

Basically I am very disappointed.. an already made deal and my money sitting in someone’s account (whom I’ve never met), and I offered to pay a whole $1K on top! But still… $500 is the difference between me and another gentleman who I'm sure will never forget how he got the car.

I guess whether you receive a hand shake, or a gentlemen's agreement, or someone's word, or “OK SOLD” in writing, or pay deposit, or even the whole amount in the seller's account, It doesn’t matter….. all for $500.. (my wife asked why I didn't just pay the $500 and get it.. I guess only men understand that it stopped being about the money now..)

I'm back on the hunt for a V6 SW20..
Re: FS - SYDNEY - Engineered Supercharged 1MZ V6 SW20 - $8,000 negotiable (TomsMR2)

Great to see you got a deal Lucas

Re: FS - SYDNEY - Engineered Supercharged 1MZ V6 SW20 - $8,000 negotiable (robk)

Haha nice one Lucas!

Re: FS - SYDNEY - Engineered Supercharged 1MZ V6 SW20 - $8,000 negotiable (Lucas)

Sold to moi :)

Funny story... I am looking for a quick sale and anyone who knows this car will know that there are lots of high quality parts used. The Supercharger kit alone sells for atleast $2,500. The reason for the cheap price is that one cylinder is slightly low on compression, but the car drives normally and still makes the same power - 150rwkw (i had it dyno'd recently and you can come for a test drive and see for yourself). It is a 1993 model and Australian delivered, the body and interior is very clean.

Suspension
Eibach ProKit Springs
Koni adjustable shocks
Cusco front camber tops
Adjustable camber bolts (front and rear)
TRD front strut brace
Ultra racing rear strut brace
TRD front sway bar
Whiteline rear sway bar
ultra racing rear underbody bracing (4x braces)
Carbing front underbody brace
Tien front caster rods
stainless steel adjustable sway bar links
urethane control arm bushes front and rear
Delta V front sway bar reinforcement plates

Wheels
Work emotion CR Kai rims - 17x9 +38, 17x8+32
Project kics R40 wheel nuts
Nitto NT-05 tyres 255 rear and 235 front

Body
clear front indicators
smoked side indicators
HID Headlight Kit 4300k
lightweight carbon fibre boot
MR2 Gen 3 rear wing

Engine & Perfomance
Toyota 1MZ-FE V6 3.0 engine
stainless steel extractors and custom Y-pipe
200cpi High Flow Metal Catalytic Converter
Fujitsubo Power Getter stainless steel bolt on muffler
Fidanza aluminium 2 piece lighweight flywheel
Earls oil cooler with fan controlled by ECU
4Runner/hilux 1 inch bore brake master cylinder
HEL Stainless steel braided brake lines
Exedy brass button clutch
E153 (MR2 Turbo) LSD gearbox,LSD driveshafts and hubs
TRD 1.5 way LSD
K&N air filter
Adaptronic ECU tuned by MRC (custom loom)
TRD supercharger kit with 5.5psi pulley
aluminium radiator
walbro high flow fuel pump
MR2 Turbo MAP sensor

Interior
330mm racing steering wheel
NRG short boss kit
oil pressure, oil temp and water temp gauges
