LETS GO NATIONAL - CLUB RUN SUNDAY 17 MAY 2015

As everyone knows we are hosting the bi-annual 2015 MR2 Nationals in Queensland in just under three weeks time. In planning this event the Committee wanted to ensure that over the three days there was a broad MR2 experience that had something for everyone to enjoy, hence the Advanced Handling Day (AHD), the Show and Shine, the Dinner, and the twisties Run on Monday as the final activity.

To make sure that the Monday Run is managed properly, that we take people over the best roads, and there are some great photo opportunities, what the Committee has decided to do is make the scheduled Run for this coming Sunday the 17th of May a replica-in-part of the Nationals Run. This is to give Club members a chance to see in advance what is being planned and make a direct contribution if they feel something needs to be changed.

The Meeting Place for Sunday the 17th of May will therefore be in the car park of the Carseldine Central Shopping Centre, which has a street address of 735 Beams Road, Carseldine, QLD, 4034, but can be more correctly described as being located on the western side corner of the main intersection of Gympie Road and Beams Road, Carseldine.

Meeting Time is 8.30am for a 9.00am departure, and we should be back at the Meeting Place around 2.30 to 3.00pm.

Please Note: When we have had Runs up north in the past we have normally meet at the Woolworths-Caltex Servo/Hungry Jacks complex north of Carseldine Central on Gympie Road, but if you are there ready to leave at 9.00am no-one else will be with you because this coming Run is different." />" /> This also means that you need to fill up before you arrive at the Carseldine Central Meeting Place.

During the Nationals the Committee has appointed a number of Activity Leaders for each day and this person will be managing the Run this coming Sunday. As per all other Club Runs a Run Sheet with full details will be provided based on the Roll Call list, including maps of the route for the first time. If you have UHF radios then please bring them.

What this Run is about, apart from Club members enjoying a day out, is getting ready to show our interstate guests why our roads are some of the best in Australia for driving your MR2 on. Add your name to the list and we look forward to seeing you there on Sunday.
