nearly a month from the last update - wow.

Getting there... slowly. Had some stuff on between us all over the past couple weekends but its all fallen into place this past weekend/week

But any way, talk about bad luck Brian....

On the 25th of July, Wil awoke to find his Beautiful Honda VFR400 missing.

The police told him that he wouldn't be getting the bike back. It was long gone.
After a week of sifting through gumtree and ebay, the cops called wil and told him that they found his bike in a ditch on the side of the road. It had been painted black and fairings removed

Great that he got it back but the fairings were ruined. At least they got good fingerprints that they left in the wet paint!

One of my friends picked up the bike for Wil and delivered it to Ben's, where the AW11 is. Wil stripped the bike and cleaned it up. Fairing kit ordered and it will be back on the road in no time!

back to the AW11.

Last weekend we cleaned up the garage, got some shelves and tinkered with little bits and piece

I Put the flywheel and clutch on... twice. Forgot to put the backing plate on. Doh!

Everything was going great right up until THE FREAKING ICE CREAM MAN APPEARED!!!

Rob beat the kids to the van - and 40 minutes later work resumed. I prepped the engine to go in.

Jump to today. Feeling motivated I went over to Ben's after work this evening, and with Wil, Ben and Erin, we installed the motor.

The life of an MR2 owner...

Done. Now for the accesories over the next few days, and then loom and ECU when a time is organized.

More progress.

Nate Reassembled the engine. meanwhile I lost one of the hollow dowel pins and had to drive two hours to get another one :(

Nothing like a fresh engine....

And of course we had the usual hangouts and bonfire.

Last night ben and I got back into the freezing cold and put most of the accessories back on the engine. Not much left to do and the engine will be back in. If we are motivated enough it could be by the weekend

Note: Superchargers are damn heavy!

Engine is just getting rebuilt, nothing too crazy.

so nothing much happened over the nationals weekend, although Wil did win the "Best Hard Luck Story" for the incident.

Johnny from WA helped us out on the car the following weekend. what a wizard!

Johnny and I started chopping the car up in an attempt to take it to the metal recyclers

And then the shell got the last laugh on my reciprocating saw. So we called someone to take it away

the end of an era....

We made a heap of progress on the new shell though, Johnny, Nate and Wil powered through the suspension

And after a long weekend it was back on its own feet!!!

Did some more work on it this weekend. Everyone seems to be alot more motivated now that its really coming together. Most of the day was spent putting the little interior bits and pieces back together. it was like a massive lego puzzle...

Dash and all the looms, fitting and AC are back in

But still no engines Ted.... Couple 4AGZE's would pull a premium a month out from a track day....

Anyway progress is being made. Wil is now an expert in AW11 Fuel tank removal. Every bit of work brings us closer to the end goal. This weekend we will have another working bee and see if we can get it all nice and clean, and hopefully the engine back!
