Would recommend him any day (and I went to him on your recommendation too, very happy!)

I'm a glass is half empty kind of guy, but would love to be surprised. We'll see in a week, I'm keen to see what it'll do on final tune!

RE: My MR2 - Resurrected old thread - Some minor mods (dylmrt)

I was speaking to Scott about this the other day. Seems like you came across a few major issues on the way!!!

Only 200rwkw with a gt30 turbo? should aim higher than that ;)

RE: My MR2 - Resurrected old thread - Some minor mods (Nightingale)

Hey Stuka,

Its a gt3076r

Mods done this round (and I think I'll leave this for a while mechanically wise):

Garrett gt3076r turbo
38mm tial external wastegate
Stainless ceramic coated dump pipe
turbo blanket/beanie
91 e153 gearbox, with kaaz 1.5 lsd
Custom dual feed fuel rail, braided lines to each side, return via coldstart hole + 850cc sard injectors
Tomei FPR
Walbro fuel pump
Trust Intercooler
Urethane engine mounts
Gen 2 3sgte block with eagle forged conrods and ACL forged pistons
HKS 272/264 cams

Runs a Adaptronic ECU (many thanks to Rob and Andy for help in this)

Most of the gear came from Jason selling his relatively new aftermarket parts. Lots of niggly problems with some of the fitting and some parts of the car which was pretty deterioriated (over 20 years old!) which delayed the finish here and there, and also over the new year and so forth. This was part of my Xmas present to myself.

For final tune if I can get over 200rwkws I'd be happy, but the turbo is supposed to be running around 25psi. According to tuner its very lazy currently on its current tune.

Future plans for now apart from the final tune is paying attention to the braking system, and then working on the body, both which already are in motion.

RE: My MR2 - Resurrected old thread - Some minor mods (stuka)

I see, that makes more sense. looks like you will have fun with this one, what gt30 is it?

RE: My MR2 - Resurrected old thread - Some minor mods (Nightingale)

Yep, its a GT30. :)

But yeah, its run in tune currently, give it 1 more week. ATM boost and rev limit is capped. New motor too you see.....

This car has undergone big round of mods, gearbox, diff, engine. I'll post a full list in a bit, but most of the gear came from Jason, much thanks to him.

RE: My MR2 - Resurrected old thread - Some minor mods (stuka)

is it a gt30 though, states 'unknown' high flow turbo in the earlier posts?? either way, if you had another 1,500 RPM and 5 psi more boost it might be a healthier result. if its run out of puff arounf 5,500 RPM its probably a stock ct26

RE: My MR2 - Resurrected old thread - Some minor mods (surok)

a GT30 turbo.. and only 125kw at the wheels?
wow what did you do to the car?

RE: My MR2 - Resurrected old thread - Some minor mods (Nightingale)

Update: Poor showing really, after a big round of mods. Mind you the rubbers should still be black. I've seen cars where they painted everything the same colour, window rubbers, windscreen surrounds etc and it looks a little weird.

But looks is something personal, just do whatever you feel looks best. Get stuff photoshopped if it helps you to decide. :)

RE: My MR2 - Resurrected old thread - Some minor mods (MRTurbo)

I know this is dubious question but do you recon they'd look good on a white SW20? <img src="https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/upfiles/smiley/s1.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" />

RE: My MR2 - Resurrected old thread - Some minor mods (Nightingale)

quote:

Where'd you get those front indicators???!
