I tapped the brakes on a tight right hander approx. 40 to 50kph and slid straight off the road in no time rolling til I got to the bottom.

I spent the trip clinging to the passenger seat with my right hand feeling like it was slow motion and pushing my son into his car seat with my left hand. The awkward twist caused me damage to my neck and upper spine but saved me from a lot of damage as the roof line on my side was stoved in. Not sure about the plug and play aspect of it.
You can have it all for 2300. It's no big deal if you don't want it as I was planning on wiring it into a 1MZ which I have in the shed.
Also have a factory blow off valve, a new set of ACL bearings for crank and rods if you are interested.

Re: (Treay81)

Ride down the hill was my most feared crash of all of them (I have had a few... haha) but this was due to my young son being in the car.

In the Ebor ranges in the twisty bends on a slightly wet night the roads were very greasy. Time flies when you're having fun!!.

Update:
In the 2 years + since my last comment. I have lurked on the forums when time permits but the deuce has sat fairly dormant!!. It gets started regularly wherever it is garaged (not always with me) and I have had to live a life of homelessness and constantly on the road as my business has gone crazy with work taking me all around the countryside, sometimes driving 2,500kms at a moments notice!.
I've been in Orange NSW on an underground construction project, Boggabri NSW on a startup, Townsville on a Water Treatment Plant upgrade then back to Boggabri for a 6 week fill in role which has now taken 4 months and likely to take 6 more!.
I even brought another Holden Colorado LTZ and had the time to drive it off a freakin cliff 'Dukes of Hazard' style! (Exaggeration but not by far! - see attached pics...) surviving hell or high water being overworked and underpaid with a crap boss...

However!!, Progress is at hand. I have rented a house in Gunnedah NSW as I am going to be in one spot for at least 6 months. So I have scoured the nation and gathered all my toys, my tools and bikes, even my Wife and Son!!. I have the SDub parked in prime position so I must walk by it several times a week and feel the pain of my heart weep as it gazes upon the damaged front end and sun damaged dash (Mt Isa killed my whip!!)

So alas, the time is upon us for repairs and more upgrades to begin!!. I have planned ahead ensuring a smooth process and no complaints by booking my wife a holiday which should ensure nothing but smiles as I spend more on my SDub!. (total win/win given that I get to go on holiday too!). I've started buying parts I need for my repairs with more to come.

New Parts Purchased (used parts):
- Frunk Lid
- Bumper
- Head light cover
- Right Hand front fender

Parts I Need to source (Get in touch if you can help...)
- Complete Dash Pad (One that is in good condition and not warped or split... bloody gumtree sellers!)
- Glove Box
- A/C Vents including top and side vents and centre dash facia (pulling all the leather and gauges out - going back to near stock)
- 2 X Door trims(Brought some off gumtree that were 'perfect condition'... but the muppet duped me. they had been drilled for component speakers... )
- Centre console (Standard Black)
- Centre Rear storage compartment
- Link G4 ECU + Tuning
- Injectors (E85 Capable - just in case)
- Fuel Pump (E85 capability)
- Replace all fuel lines (E85 compliant)
- Full time body repair guru to come live with me free of rent... But he will be busy!!
- Underside plastics
- Inner wheel well plastic liner for front right hand side
- Front Bonnet (Frunk) release lever and plastic surround (cabin mounted unit)
- New door seals (I don't think mine are worn but I will replace them anyway just to be sure.)

I'll update as more comes to light. When I get a day off next week I may even grab some current pics of all the panel damage and Sun damage and post an update.

Cheers!!

Treay.
Re: (Treay81)

My Raybrig's showed up. Installed them as well as the LED conversion kit to change my H4 Halogens to a LED kit.

the light is really clear and white. the spread is nice. I have driven past 2 cops and hit the highway to see if i get flashed. also got opinions from a few people. they think its bright but doesn't have the reach of halogens etc. so looks like these are staying put. I love them, very keen to use these for dancing with roos on my trip.

I'll adjust them a bit further up and go take the head on test again. see how far up I can adjust them till i am blinding people... then back it off I guess.

PICS:

Re: (Treay81)

Wandering around my shed last night and realised I still have a full box of Dynamat extreme left over from my Coupe build. So decided to Dynamat at least my doors and see if it improves the sound of the stereo and the cabin noise at all.

I lined the entire inner skin and then just covered the holes on the outer skin. seems to feel solid. hopefully it sounds much better. If i get around to it I might even have a crack at the rear firewall as long as I am not cutting my time too short as I leave on 14th at 03:00am. so dont want to be up all night putting it back together lol.

This is looking inside the door skins. Dynamat applied to inside for the full length:

looking at door: would never have normally done this given the weight it adds. however with 7,000kms ahead I want the sound to be as good as possible.

Blocked the holes in the outer skin. didn't worry too much about doing the entire door. if it doesn't make much of a difference maybe I'll cut some to fill in the areas I missed on the outer skin. wait and see

Re: (Dudeman)

Treay81

DDB disdnt have cameras at that stage. My wife and I are planning on returning to the Newcastle area early next year we hope.

Turbo I have purchased through gumtree. So it's a GCG rebuilt CT26 with steel wheel and 55 trim comp.

I don't know too much about them as I usually dabble in old school v8 toys. But it feels okay so far. Had heaps of trouble shooting to do.

Put it on the dyno after the GCG turbo was bolted on and it sucked. only reeled off 115rwkw and less than 200nm.

Took it home, replaced all Vac lines, cleaned ignition contacts, base timing checked. then blocked the boost sensor vac line to allow it to go over 12lb, which so far I'm only sitting around 13lb and the AFR's are sweet so I'm happy to leave it at that.

Made 153rwkw and 365nm with the above work. (not exactly ground breaking but the engine is running healthy)

Then the other night I decided to check my filter, upon closer inspection I found that my airbox was had a dodgey modification by the previous owner where they have cut a perfectly 'oval' hole into the side and had shoved some ducting into the hole. It was pretty rough so it would have been sucking air from everywhere.

Here's what I found:

So, being in Mount Isa I had little choice but to kind of dodge up the dodgey intake. So I cleaned it up a bit, brought some PVC 900mm bends from Bunnings and some termite capping to use for covering up the oval hole and mounting my new intake pipe to.

Turned out okay for a dodgey repair, but once I'm back from my trip I'll either replace the airbox or look at a new intake to better capture the cold air.

Here is the front of the box. Plate was trial fitted here but I ended up adding sikaflex to the underside when i finally put it together:

Installed it once it was dry and hooked the ducting up this time cable tying it onto the PVC pipe:
.

New K&N Panel filter. good for at least 0.00073rwkw gains:

Then today I cleaned the AFM, drained the coolant, flushed it twice with deionised water and then replaced with Toyota red going back through the bleeding process.

Decided to give it another service with some Synpower oil and filter as it will be due in about 2,000kms anyways and I'm about to depart for a 7,000kms trip.

Adjusted the suspension in the rear to give slightly more clearance and it appears to feel better on the road. might get this thing corner balanced when I get the chance. But, first I need to replace the rack as there is a bit of play in it. I guess while I'm going might as well put some new bushes in the front end as well.

Took it for a spin this arvo and came home smiling like a fat kid in a candy shop. pretty stoked with it. really looking forward to this road trip. seeing a lot of country and hitting a lot of my favorite roads.

Cheers.
Re: SW20 Turbo (Jap Import) (WHITCHY)

Looking good man!
