Just about to go out and hopefully if it's not raining tomorrow I'll take it for a spin. Already it feels just alot more controllable. You just let the awd do it's thing. The DCCD will be staying in auto for now until I get used to the car and how the "give and take" relationship works between car and driver then I'll start mucking around with the diffs.
RE: jdmr288's SW20 (MRTurbo)

I don't mind the 'fuselage and wings' front on those.
Lots of rain up there atm - whats it like in the wet compared to the MR2?
RE: jdmr288's SW20 (ashtwo)

nice car mate, looks the goods. yeah I drove my mates sti a while back and definitely a fun car to drive, can chuck it in to anything with ease! enjoy it... and I certainly wouldn't be missing the maintenance side of things either lol not a plus in my books
RE: jdmr288's SW20 (jdmr288)

Took it for an 80km drive last night. Initial impressions - extremely easy to drive. There's such an abundance of torque down low it's so hard to not drift over the speed limit. Definitely doesn't like being chugged in a high gear. There's not much power under 3k but it takes only a split second to spool and slap you in the face with the torque, power tapers off a fair bit up high. Cornering is effortless. It almost feels like a FWD car, it turns in nicely but you can feel the back end feels a bit happy - just at a bit beyond normal road limits so will be interesting when pushing harder.

It's definitely different comparing it to the MR2 where your an integral part of the handling/weight package. Definitely will NOT be missing the maintenance aspect of the MR2 - this doesn't seem any better as far as space goes in the bay but at least it's all clean.
RE: jdmr288's SW20 (MR2QIK)

Very nice. Most of you know I sold my car to a new forum member about 2-3 months ago.

Had a hard time deciding what I wanted. Was back and forth between an S2000 (AP2), 06 STi, Evo8 MR or a 9 if I could stretch it. Nothing seemed to really entice me that much- particular what was on offer at the time. I even had a brief look into Nissan - quickly realized it would be a mistake so backed out of that cul de sac pretty quick.

Settled on an 06 STi. I just love the look of them, the interior and what they can do with very little money invested. My main aspiration for selling up was because I wanted a newer car, something that could "do it all" and with a bit more room. Started scouring the net everyday, joined Rexnet forums and had a look on there. It wasn't until early last week that I saw this pop up. Had been up for a day, 191 views, 0 replies and ticked all the boxes that I had set myself. Long story short - picked up the beast this afternoon and am looking forward to a brilliant, easy and hopefully trouble free relationship.

The only decent pic I have of the car - still looks the same and I was able to scrape the plates off him as well.

Mods on the car include:
JVC Headunit
Hi-Tec TBE - gives the rumble but is pretty quiet even when on boost. Very streetable.
CAI in the front driver's wheel well (stock location)
Dyno tune by JEM I believe - 208awkw
S204 front lip
Powdercoated stock rims on RE070's - 225/40/17 all around
Seems like it has aftermarket strut braces - not all STi's came with these
Tien lowered springs - stock spring rate
Walboro 255lph

Future plans:
Pay off my loan.
Not go broke.
Keep some food in the pantry.
Milk every 2nd week.
Equal length headers - this should rid the rumble anything over idle and make it sound like an angry turbo honda
Re-tune for 220-230awkw.

This forum blows for uploading pics honestly...

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
RE: jdmr288's SW20 (jdmr288)

MM the rears look really really good with the concaved spokes.
