Goodluck with sale.

As for import topic, a genuine immaculate gen3 turbo would outvalue an AUDM NA. MR2's are honestly valued on their merits, not origin of sale. I've seen many more banged up NA's than imports.

Re: Victoria (Geelong) 1996 Aus delivered MR2 Red (redbathurst)

It's nearly impossible to track to true history of the car, so you don't know how far it's been really driven, if it's been pieces together from two or more cars after a major crash, or if it's been stolen and given a new fake identity.
This is why it's not as valuable like an australian model. People wants to know where the car came from. With mine for example, you know who the first person was to purchase it, have her details and knows where she is from. Then it's me being the second owner. There could of been 10 other people that owned an import car before you have.

Each to there own I guess. Good discussion.. But I'm just getting my facts from magazines and writers..

Re: Victoria (Geelong) 1996 Aus delivered MR2 Red (Eric)

I completely disagree with that statement. A clean hardtop (import only) will pull more money than an Aus delivered 9/10 times.

In fact, most imported cars pull more money than the Australian counterpart due to the fact the australian versions are missing alot of features and are de-tuned. e.g Silvia's, Skylines, MR2's, Supras, RX7's

Anyway, good luck with the sale
Re: Victoria (Geelong) 1996 Aus delivered MR2 Red (redbathurst)

$13,500ono

Fact are true mate, imports aren't as valuable as the ones delivered to the country. dorsnt matter which car it is.

Re: Victoria (Geelong) 1996 Aus delivered MR2 Red (Carmikey)

Price would help...
also i wouldnt go quoting 'imports are cheap'. Selling due to a deposit for a house.

I am the second owner of the MR2 with proof. I've owned it for over 10 years now. Australian delivered not some cheap import. I have devoted a lot of time and money into this car. Never driven in the rain, washed once a week and the paint hasn't faded. This is a genuine car which will gain value in years to come. If it was my choice, i would keep it.

The interior is perfect. Both seats are immaculate with no smoke burns (non smoker), no rips, nothing. Dash has no cracks. Toyota floor mats. 2 original Toyota keys.

The car has been lowered with kings springs. 18" Koya rims (legal, skinny fronts, wide backs). Slotted front brakes.

It has different side as you can see in the photo. Everything else is original.

The motor has had money spent on it to improve performance without insurance problems or P plate restrictions. Engine improvement include:

*custome forged bigger high top pistons (blanks imported from USA and shaped in Australia)
*cylinders bored polished
*ported heads
*exhaust ports enlarged
*cranks grinded
*customer bigger cams (blanks imported from USA and shaped in Australia)
*new value springs and lifters
*water pump
*main and big end bearings
*hurricane leads
*lighten flywheel
*short shift
*custom header
*high flow cat
*magnaflow exhaust
*microtech system
*KN air filter system

*Have all receipts in the folder and all work done by leading car tuner and drag racer Chris Dalton from Dalton Automotive. You can contact him for any question

All work was done about 6 years ago. The car doesn't get driven, i have my work car and is only taken out on nice days. Only BP or Mobil 98 octane fuel goes in. (6 yrs worth)

It has a Sony amp inside with a Kenwood CD player but wasn't into sound system, was a gift.

The car has been very well looked after.
EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CAR IS AWESOME, BODY, PAINT, INTERIOR, MECHANICAL.

Not like some typical MR2 that have cracked door handles and worn seats, wound back speedos and rust, imported dodgy MR2, aftermarket stuff that spoils the looks.

This is a perfect example of what a MR2 should be. It may have high km's showing on the clock, but has less on the engine. But this shows you how good Toyota is and how reliable.

The chassis has 300,000km in but the motor has roughly 80,000kms on it.

I have all the original parts: exhaust, springs, air filter system, CD player.

MY LOSS YOUR GAIN, JUST IN TIME FOR SUMMER TO TAKE THE ROOF OFF AND ENJOY!

Price negotiable
