I can't remember if my car's assessment summary was "the tyres are too large!" or "put a louder, sportier exhaust on immediately". I think it was the second one, thanks guys :)! (No the tips aren't crooked like in the picture!)

Thanks to Scope and Nate. You guys should move closer to the Gold Coast

Getting my alternator fixed before it blows something up is about the next 50 years club membership paid for. All the other things you found will get fixed too. I looked up braided clutch hose and will order tomorrow.

I'd love to do this once a year. Preferably a month or so before a club track day.

It was a very successful and enjoyable day.
Big thanks to Scope and Nate for your invaluable knowledge and skills, Kaylene and Kathy for organising the catering and facilities and Walter for conducting a very smooth running event.
Days like this really emphasize the benefits of belonging to our Club.

DIRECTIONS TO THE SCOPE CAVE

For everyone who will be visiting the Scope Cave on Sunday to have their ride checked over, an individual PM will be sent out tomorrow morning giving full details of what is happening. For some whose may be working or doing something else in the morning and have posted their apologies the same PM will be sent in case they can make it later in the day.

Don't forget we have two extremely competent mechanics at the workshop (Scope and Nat_P) so you shouldn't worry about the time it will take. Scope can be doing his hoist thing (he loves that) while Nate_p will be there to help out with whatever comes along.

We can provide tools, etc; ( I will bring my socket sets, etc; to help out as I am sure others will) and the whole idea of the day is to get it get some of these types of issues sorted out, while giving people the opportunity to learn about the possible trouble spots with the cars. Check out the photo below from last year.

Even if you can just confirm or deny the problem (that's like "aware but not anxious"" />) it will help to reduce the time you might have to take on your holidays to fix it properly. As happened last year with someone's SW20, you might find that what you think it is most certainly is not the case.

Indeed, I blew two coolant hoses simultaneously (head/heater and thermostat) on the way back form the AGM. I suppose it could have been an increasing leak on an old hose that built pressure, however my gut feeling is a head gasket. It hasn't shown any further symptoms since, although I haven't driven the car further than Bunnings, taken it over 5krpm or done any further investigation.

I'm happy to give it a miss if a leak down test is too time consuming for the day with a long lineup of cars, I have a few weeks leave coming up next month to sort it out.
