Amazing that it never happened to you in the 7 years prior when you were more likely to put your shoes under the pedals on long drives.
Anyway, it won't happen again.
Re: Long Pedal Bolts + Shoe Laces = Crash at Lakeside :( (mr2pete)

That sucks mate. Are you on the northside? I live pretty close to lakeside. Have you had an estimate on it yet? If you cant repair it go a turbo and swap all the good parts in to one car.
Re: Long Pedal Bolts + Shoe Laces = Crash at Lakeside :( (rikkir)

I definetly hope its repairable. Hard enough saying bye to cars you have had a few years. I can't imagine the attachment to a car you love that you learned to drive in.
Re: Long Pedal Bolts + Shoe Laces = Crash at Lakeside :( (stuka)

thats very unfortunate, a good thing it didnt happen on the public road
Re: Long Pedal Bolts + Shoe Laces = Crash at Lakeside :( (5SGTE)

Oh that sux... Looked like a nice car from what I can see.
Re: Long Pedal Bolts + Shoe Laces = Crash at Lakeside :( (Steve_A)

Bought the car when I was 17 and learnt to drive manual in it! And its served me well for about 7 years now. Hopefully it'll be repairable :(

If not I'll probably take off the bits I want, part out the rest and get a Turbo since I've been thinking of boost for the last few months
Re: Long Pedal Bolts + Shoe Laces = Crash at Lakeside :( (rikkir)

I feel your pain..... How long have you had the car for?

Long Pedal Bolts + Shoe Laces = Crash at Lakeside :( (Steve_A)

So when I bought my car it had these silver pedals that I always assumed were just normal but turns out the were bolted on. Behind the pedals were these dirty great bolts that couldn't be seen from the front.

My shoe got caught on the bolts under braking and when tried let up on the brakes and turn in I was stuck!

This is the result of getting cozy with the tire wall :(
