It also registers FM, for me anyways. You can get an adapter at an electronics store. Reception is actually ok but may struggle in heavy traffic
Anyways you wanna look for this fella:

Mine snapped recently where the front (1) cable connects to the rear cable (2). You'll have to pull off the undertray towards the mid-rear section of the car see it. It's a 2 cm thick cable with foam padding. Then I just followed this lol

http://www.stephenmason.com/cars/mr2speedo.html

Anyways you unscrew the connector and there's a pin sticking out like he says in first paragraph, test it with your drill to see if the speedo needle works. Otherwise it could be the actual speedo gear (3). You'll have to take out the air box to have better access over the engine bay.

Re: 1990 mr2 speedo not working (Mrskylighter)

That would mean it's the AM antenna then if it's the small one.

Re: 1990 mr2 speedo not working (PrivateJoker)

That's what I thought too but it was too small and then I found the radio antenna

Re: 1990 mr2 speedo not working (Mrskylighter)

That cable is the radio antenna.
Re: 1990 mr2 speedo not working (PrivateJoker)

Pic of cable

Re: 1990 mr2 speedo not working (PrivateJoker)

[image]file:///C:/Users/TP/Desktop/IMAG0438.jpg[/image]
1990 mr2 speedo not working (PrivateJoker)

I removed my dash over the weekend to fix afew thing now my speed isn't working.
The needle sits way below 0
The cable is connected properly behind the instrument cluster.
I started pulling the dash apart again and notist this cable not connected to anything (will post a pic as soon as I get on my laptop) and I can't find where it came from .
Any help would be greatly appreciated
