Yeh, it was a great idea. If I do a engine cover like that I'll use your style of mounting bracket but with bonnet pins. I need security as mine is a street car and I found some where you can lock the caps with a key.

I did it this way so I could sell it if I wanted to and have it put onto a road car.
The brackets that came with it were much simpler - captive nut and screw, though I modified them to have the Dzus fasteners instead. It was a bit of mucking around though worth it.

Interesting. Thank you so much for doing that. You gave me all the detail I could need. I was under the impression it replace the little blade edging, but it's much simpler than that. I'm going to start researching the possibility of making something similar to this.

Just for curiosities sake, could you please take photo's of how this attaches to the vehicle? I'd be interested in making a similar part however, I'm just yet to investigate how it is mounted.

Somone could buy this make a rigid mold of it a vacuum form thermo softened plastic over it. If you wanted a clear one. You'll get a lot of uses from one mold too. Could even make money from it.
