But these things are seriously scary.

Australia system is different to the rest of the world as its a pin that sets it off not electronic.

Ild give it a miss since your car wasnt set up with it IIRC. Go TRD. JAPAN YAHOO sometimes they are as low as $50.

I bought my mint one for $150
Re: Beams parts (rikkir)

xez
Good to hear. I'm always interested in low-mileage Bathursts for sale - haven't seen another one with less than 140kms for ages, so you got yourself a good find.
Take your time with the BEAMS swap - it's worth making sure everything is in order before you guts the car out and enter project car downtime.
Haven't planned on going to the MTC event at this stage, but that could change. <img src="https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/upfiles/smiley/s4.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" />

I'm still disappointed that you didn't sell me yours lol. I hope its still going well for you. It's a 4000km round trip for me, but I'd like to meet a few other MR2 enthusiasts, and i want to experience the ability of my car in a legal safe environment. I doubt my ability will match the cars, but at least it'll be fun lol.

Re: Beams parts (xez)

Good to hear. I'm always interested in low-mileage Bathursts for sale - haven't seen another one with less than 140kms for ages, so you got yourself a good find.
Take your time with the BEAMS swap - it's worth making sure everything is in order before you guts the car out and enter project car downtime.
Haven't planned on going to the MTC event at this stage, but that could change. <img src="https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/upfiles/smiley/s4.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" />
Re: Beams parts (rikkir)

Hi Xez, been loving the car, been for some good drives around the Adelaide Hills. I'm still saving for bits and pieces for the Beams swap...i want to do a full service and new clutch, timing belt, filters etc before it goes in. I want to try to upgrade the car to Rev 5 spec eventually. I'm hoping to go to the MR2 Trackday Challenge in January for a bit of fun. Will you be there?

Re: Beams parts (xez)

Hi Rick,
How's the BEAMS swap going? Any progress updates?
Hope you're enjoying the car nonetheless... <img src="https://www.classic-ford.org/mr2/mr2play/upfiles/smiley/s4.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" />
Re: Beams parts (rikkir)

MANDALAY
cheap $30

Have you had a chance to look at your stuff for me?
Let me know what you might have.

Thanks

Re: Beams parts (rikkir)

I'll take it thanks. I'm also looking for some service parts if you have them - cam belt, tensioner and idler bearings etc to service the Beams before i install it. I might also be interested in Rev 5 steering wheel, gear knob and boot if you happen to have them. Id love to get a TRD steering wheel, bit they are a bit expensive, so i am trying to upgrade my 97 Bathurst to Rev 5.

Re: Beams parts (MANDALAY)

cheap $30
Re: Beams parts (rikkir)

How much did you want for a new one?
Re: Beams parts (MANDALAY)

I have 2 new ones plus many other Beams parts.

Some new , some 6000 kms old and many from a spare engine

To many to list but everything is going to permanant storage by the end og July never to be seen again unless i need a part.
Re: Beams parts (track_mr2)

Go to Bunnings and get something called "Selley's All Plastic" glue.
