Got another kid
On the way lol , thanks for the info guys really appreciate the time taken,
B24 please do keep me in the loop, do you have a thread going? I could follow thread progress

Re: Wtb v6 mr2 (B24)

Gouky on the U.S. forums has a great kit for a Mk2 conversion. Includes all the brackets and exhaust manifold. These are around the 1800 delivered.
Ethan has a 2gr for sale for a good price which has been rebuilt but does require a possible set of lifters as something is a little sticky in the valve train. Pretty easy fix if you are mechanically minded. This is around the 1500 mark
There are looms with ECU's available for under 1000.
You can pick up a tired turbo MK2 for around 7000
Clutch is 400
So, with that kind of ballpark, you can put one together for 15000.
I will have some updates in the next month or so on my conversion which may help with your goal.
Re: Wtb v6 mr2 (sinbad)

you will need a 2gr engine with a full Loom, or go full after market ECU setup, you will need turbo gearbox, turbo running gear and turbo shifter cables, 2GR extractors or a full custom exhaust, road & track engine mounts all round, you would need a better clutch, and preferably a mechanical LSD in your gearbox. i would also recommend fitting an oil cooler and atleast replacing the radiator with a new one. you will need emissions tests if you are running an after market ECU and it would need to be fully engineered.

you need much more than 20k to do this properly.
Re: Wtb v6 mr2 (Head gasket)

Was after 2gr. But ATM I don't have the money for a 20k conversion ..

Re: Wtb v6 mr2 (B24)

Better off buying a registered, running car in good condition then doing a conversion. Which V6 are you looking for?

Re: Wtb v6 mr2 (Head gasket)

Thanks, appreciate the reply and I was taking a stab in the dark but as you stated I was being a tad ambitious lol. Looks like ill go back to trying to find a wrecked out 90+ model to go ground up on my old beast.
Would you know the best place to start looking for whole wrecks . I don't get any time to look at wreckers and in over buying stuff online because half the time i don't get what I want

Re: Wtb v6 mr2 (Knightrous)

Only a handful of these cars in the country and the people that have them have paid $10-$20k to have workshops build them for them or spent thousands of dollars and months of time building them themselves. Your probably going to have to do the same thing to achieve this unless one of the existing owners has a mid life crisis.

You might get lucky, but don't expect to see a bunch of replies :)
Re: Wtb v6 mr2 (Mrskylighter)

You might be waiting a while for this to become available.
