(Mrskylighter)

No worries John. Good luck with it.
I doubt the wrecker will sell you part of a complete engine though. Road and track rebuild 3sgtes and likely have individual parts available to buy.

You'll find a lot of helpful people on this forum, so if you have any more questions just post them up. Some of us have owned MR2's for 10+ years and know everything about them.

Re: water pipe ? (Mrskylighter)

The top section comes off easily with the two bolts you can see. Underneath the top section is a round o-ring which you should replace if you separate the two sections.
You should be able to purchase the top by itself new or used. Start a new thread in 'Wanted to Buy' and someone might be able to help you out.
Maybe also try contacting 'Road and track' who is a forum sponsor. They are in Qld and might have that part as well.
Re: water pipe ? (Mrskylighter)

Has the metal pipe come away from the cast alloy section? (circled in blue below) If it has I'd be buying a new or used one. No point trying a dodgy repair on a car with a complex coolant system. If your fix fails and you overheat the engine you will be upset :)

water pipe ?
