They are M7x 1.0. My bolts are 50mm long, not sure if that's the same length as the factory ones.

Im thinking I might have even got M8x1.0 bolts and used the tap and die set to get them to 7mm now.
Re: Spare bolts needed (photo within) (robk)

Thanks guys. As I said, it's all sorted anyway.
Also, a local mate said he has a pair of the brand new bolts if I want them, but I'll just let my mech use the bolts he found.

Re: Spare bolts needed (photo within) (lucifer)

robk
Yeah they have a stupid star drive head (I forgot what it was called until you mentioned it)! The star drive on both bolts is worn/rounded excessively.

Anyway, my mechanic just sent me an email saying that he found some suitable bolts in his collection (I don't know if they have the stupid star drive head, I doubt it), so I guess the problem is solved :-) I only made this thread just-in-case, to minimise delays.

I've never seen what the stock bolts look like when they're removed, but he said they didn't look very standard-sized. He may have been wrong, I don't know. Oh well, doesn't matter now.
Re: Spare bolts needed (photo within) (just_ace)

Iirc, those bolts have a ghey star int drive head. As knightrous said.id Just fit some nice stainless cap bolts similar to those used on the cam cover from deltaV

Re: Spare bolts needed (photo within) (Knightrous)

Remove a bolt, go for a quick drive to a bolt shop, match it up, bring a pair of new ones home?
99.9999% of the time Toyota bolts are a regular standard Metric threaded bolt, shouldn't be hard to find at all.
Re: Spare bolts needed (photo within) (Eric)

Might have a pair from a 4age if that would be any use?

Spare bolts needed (photo within) (robk)

Does anyone have any spares of the bolts shown in the photo below?

My mechanic removed those 2 bolts so a metal plug could be installed in the distributor hole after the distributor was deleted, but the heads of the bolts are so worn that it will be almost impossible to remove them normally in the future if they are reinstalled now.

So, I need some new ones ASAP if anyone has some spares, or even some second hand ones without excessive wear to the bolt heads. Apparently there are no new ones in Australia so they would have to be sent from Toyota in Japan with a 3 week wait.
My mechanic is going to search through his huge collection of random bolts, but he said that he might struggle to find a matching pair of such unusual bolts.

Thanks
