Ok cheers, so there is no clip or retainer that needs to be removed or any other special trick to remove it then?
Brute force it is then.

That handle needs to come off. Its on very tight but just needs to slide towards the front of the seat. I normally place the handle of a hammer on the rear and use another hammer to tap it forward.

Hey there. I am trying to install some custom seat cover and I need to take out the plastic trim at the bottom. Is there a good tutorial on how to do this?
I have already taken the seats off the car, and I took off the screw hidden behind the recliner handle. It seems like I need to remove the recliner handle but I haven't been able to so far. Is there a trick to doing this (91 N/A mr2)?
