If you have the original system the genuine gaskets are best.
Currently in combination with the Remus I have Fujitsubo SuperX headers, and a Metal Matrix 200 cell metal cat. A good exhaust sound was not my priorities when I fitted these, but I like the sound - a bit deeper than stock with no raspiness, and just about the right volume too. In fact surprisingly the exhaust volume is actually quieter than when I had the stock headers.
A sound clip wouldn't be relevant anyway unless you had the rest of the system the same as mine.

BTW, I have tried different combinations and found previously with the Remus, the stock headers and a 100 cell metal cat that there was an annoying drone about 100kph, and it was a bit too loud for the street.
The problem was the 100 cell cat, and swapping to a 200 fixed the problem.

Re: Sw20 na remus catback (Gog975)

Seeing the remus tips hanging out the back of the 2 was one major influence in buying it very happy considering I got the whole car for $2000, needs a little love but it will get there, @ Reddtarga thats the same one i have, what are you running along with the remus, highflow cat, extractors? Any chance you could do a sound clip for me?? Haven't heard mine properly as all the connections in the exhaust system were loose and no gasket just sealent so a horrible amount of exhaust leaks lol

Re: Sw20 na remus catback (Sqveak)

I was wondering if anyone in Aus has one of these.
Have had my eye on it ever since I found out that Remus was founded by ex Sebring people.

The other European option for an SW20 catback is the Sebring.
No idea if that one is still in production though as it's mentioned in their catalogue but not their price list.

Here's one fitted to an SW20 Spider, looking all nice and plausibly stock:
http://www.mrtwee.nl/MyMR2.htm
(Just scroll down.)

...and some video with sound for comparison:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8_84qp-SrM
(The Sebring)

Since that photo above is all fish-eyed/wide-angle...
Can someone who has a Remus show or tell how close to centred the tips are between the rear grille and the "cutouts" in the rear bumper?
Re: Sw20 na remus catback (Reddtarga)

John's car is actually an early model NA, and he does have a full stainless Remus Catback.
I also have one on my '90 model NA.
The reason you don't see these for sale is probably because (a) they are very expensive to buy in the first place and (b) they have slightly larger diameter pipes so probably flow better, have a great sound and have a unique look to the outlet pipes, so why would you ever sell one.
After I fitted it I noticed that the sound was noticably deeper than the stock muffler but not louder.
Unfortunately it weighs exactly the same as the stock muffler (16 kilos or so) so the only reason I might consider changing it would be if I could find a much lighter one to save weight off the back end, but it probably wouldn't look a good.
The full stainless Legalis R is also a popular replacement however it is even heavier.

Re: Sw20 na remus catback (sweeetpete)

John Coombes has a Remus on his SDub but its a Turbo I think.
