(rikkir)

It'll be a while before i can afford new wheels and tyres anyway lol. MTC cost me nearly $2k all up to attend. If anyone needs a kidney i might have to sell one lol.

Re: Nearly track time / ready. (Carmikey)

Excellence mind set Rick. If u can learn to drive the car to its limits on road tires first, u will be a much better confident driver when u are on better tyres in the future.
it was great seing both u & Rob battle it out on track too!
Re: Nearly track time / ready. (rikkir)

Yeah, i know what Adrian did, i definetly need better tyres and suspension..... And a lot more skill lol.... I'm pretty happy with what i achieved at Wakefield Park for a first timer. I've only ever done one track day at Mallala before that, so I'm still learning the cars abilities, and my own.... I'm pretty sure the car is way in advance of me atm.
I wanted to do my first couple of track days with ordinary tyres to get a feel for things before i move onto better tyres, so i can properly appreciate the difference.

Re: Nearly track time / ready. (92 Hard Top)

Walkfield is a small track. Tyres make a big difference! Better than horsepower. In and out of corners faster. Walkfield is a small track. Check Adrian's time with a NA.
Re: Nearly track time / ready. (rikkir)

No wonder i was struggling to keep up in the twisty bits lol.
I didn't end up matching Robs best time, even with the Beams. I only managed a 1:19.8 on the last day :(
Re: Nearly track time / ready. (Carmikey)

Just finished the last of what I thought was to be done on my track prepped aw11...., took it for a quick blast around the block & noticed it wont hold itself in 4th gear (pops out).

I took a risk with the gearbox, as I got it in the 'UNKNOWN' condition. Looks though its a gearbox out again job.

I want to know if / how hard it is to modify an front wheel drive 4age gearbox to suit the aw11 setup. As orginally when I purchase the engine package (small port 4age) from a 1992 corolla seca, the gearbox has the linkage on the wrong side, & I would like to modify & use that box, as I know it is sweet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some pictures of what the AW11 looks like now. (a liitle of carbon wrapping).

Re: WTB: Complete engine (4agze or 4age) (Carmikey)

Couldnt source a Gear selector bracket, all done now - manufactured one myself.

No more parts required ATM ... should be ready for testing next track day (Mallala) in June.

Thanks all for everyones help.
Re: WTB: Complete engine (4agze or 4age) (Carmikey)

Last part needed ATM: Needs to be from a AW11 mr2 (not sure if supercharged is the same).

1. Gear selector bracket (located outside on gearbox) C clips holds the gear selector cables to the bracket.

If no one has one for sale, could someone post a picture so I can attempt to make one.
Thanks.
Re: WTB: Complete engine (4agze or 4age) (Carmikey)

Thanks 'Mrskylighter'.
I'll enquire, Hopefuly he have the last couple of items i need.
Im planning on taking this car as a spare track car for mtc 2015, &
