Will likely help a little more if you posted a pic of how it was when you purchased it (with the 17's) and any other unique things with the car.
Looks like NSW rego, where abouts was it picked up from?

Hi,

I recently purchased a white 1987 hardtop. All I've done so far is remove two amps, a subwoofer and replaced the 17" rims with 15s.

I went for a drive over the long weekend and was hugely impressed with the car. MR2s are fantastic. But on to the actual question...

I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about the history of this car. I know it's a long shot but I think the engine has been changed and it'd be nice to know when this was or any other details/stories. The car is factory white but has been resprayed at some point with a slight pearl in the white, it has black interior, It's got 318000 on the clock, it's in very good condition and seems to have been well looked after. I don't know what other identifying details there are. If anyone can help it'd be much appreciated.
