Rx8 5000 series are still not available. Grrr

They not going to be made available. Just went through this, Directly from DBA, "there are none and we are not interested in making them"

I currently have RDA RX8 rotors on my car, My car isn't registered and it used for sprint racing, we get 4 laps for 5 rounds, a lap is about 45seconds.
After looking at the RX8 rotors and the fact my car is well over braked, I put the rotors in my brake lathe and removed as much of the redundant metal as I felt I could.
There was 2mm of excess diameter, I took them down to 22.1mm (22mm in min thickness).
Using a boring bar normally used for drums I removed excess metal at the ID of the inside friction surface.
then tapered that back to the just outside the pad area.
I had the car rolling in hurry as I needed the hoist space for customer jobs, so they haven't be put on a scale.
As best I have is a quote from a friend who was skeptical about it. He held them and said "well, you can feel a difference".
In all honesty I be surprised if it was worth more then 1kg per rotor.
How ever, at our last round, there was 0.09second between 1st and 3rd and only 0.03 back to 4th.
So for me any gain could be the difference.
I'm yet to do the front rotors, but they will get the machined with the same principles.

Even though the ebay vendor was listing 3 sets available.
May just have to settle for the 4000s on the rear

DeltaV do longer brake lines to suit. Stock will reach, however it is never a good idea to stretch a brake hose.

Bought them tonight along with 5000's for the front and delta v adapters.

Dba aren't doing 5000s for the rx8 :@ they have a listing but need a minimum of a 20 piece order to make them.

I have 4000s supra/rx8 that might be surplus if you end up going that route.

Thinking of going down this BBK road.
Who has alu hat rotors? Are they worth the extra money?
I am looking at either 4000 series or 5000 series DBA's
has anyone had clearance issues with 17" wheels
I'm using Enkei rpf1s

Looks like a re-branded Taiwanese kit. At 2000 Euro it isn't cheap :)
You can get the same kits with different logos/colours etc cheaper then above. You just have to find them.

I use PB brakes on my car and the stopping power is very strong with no fade after repeated high speed stops.
You will have to upsize the master cylinder though to maintain a firm brake pedal.

Everyone will tell you its overkill, but I drive my car hard and it accelerates to speed very quickly, stopping quickly and confidently is pretty important to me.

I use standard callipers on my SW20 racer and they are fine. I do have bigger rotors though didn't notice any difference in braking performance after I put them on.
Unless your brakes are fading, don't bother putting bigger ones on unless you just want to do it for the bling.
I have a mate with V8 supercar brakes on his MK1 Ford Cortina which weighs less than 1000Kgs. They look ridiculous.
