Silicone v Rubber radiator Hoses

So i'm getting down to the nitty gritty,rad hoses which is best silicone or rubber hoses.what's the pros and con's of both,what would you use regards..

Flywheel lightening

As my van is a d/d, i have been told to take a few kgs of the flywheel.To lesson the stress on the motor i always thought you done it to get the motor more responsive.Anyway how much should i take of 1/2/3 kg or more regards james..

datsun crank

I am considering putting a datsun crank in my kent motor I already run the datsun pistons and rods does anyone know where I can buy a good machined crank? or where I can take a crank to get the machining done? preferably near newcastle any pros or cons with doing this ? THANKS MAL..

Unleaded head

Is it worth doing, or should i just run a upper cyl lube kit.As i got quoted 500+for the head to be converted to unleaded Anybody know the pros/cons of the upper cyl lube kit..

worked 1600 overheated

Just finished my escort today, took it for abot a 10km drive came home and it boiled. i then let it cool down and started it about 2hours later, it seamed to run ok. Then i took it for a little drive she got to about 100 degress C, so i put a bigger radiator in when i started it up to test drive it ..

Guys, I have a '69 Capri 1600GT engine (the one with the small combustion chamber in head) that I am going to rebuild for my Anglia. I have a couple of questions I am hoping you guys can help me with... Firstly I need to get it rebored (+40thou) as the bores are fairly worn therefore will need..

Rebuilt xflow 1600 but NO oil pressure

I rebuilt my xflow completely last year and all ran perfectly after. Over this January I took the engine out (xflow 1660cc 711 block) to up rate the cam. I stripped it down to fit new cam bearings and cam, then put all back together again. Problem is after putting oil in oil filter and engine block ..

starter motor problems

i have two bosh type starter motors which will fit my 711m 1600 xflow. the main issue is the bosh starter motor has a solenoid on it... the clapped out one (that i want to replace) has the solenoid pointing straight down... out of the way of everything... the new reconditioned one has the solenoi..
