YB cam belt tensioning

Guys, Just wondering how the cam belt tensioner works. Its on an eccentric, and as you turn it, it gets tighter or looser depending on which way you go - thats all cool - but then to lock it where you want you seem to just tighten up the big nut on the front (25mm-ish) as hard as you can. A few Zetec questions......

Hi guys doing a mk2 escort/zetec conversion (Blacktop) just a few little questions. I'm using an alloy bellhousing for a Type 9 and was wondering what sandwitch plate people have used? the bottom half doesnt fit now because the starter motor is now there instead of up the top, will a pinto one fit??..

hi guys trying to build myself relitvly cheap cossi just wondering 1: what pistons to run 2: what rods 3: what cams and valves if necessary taking into account theres no work done to the head just looking to pump up my compression to get atleast a little zip out of it.. its only gonna be a road..
