starter motor, drivers or passenger side?

Does the 2L escort have it's starter on the driver or pass side? I have come across a couple lately, both in cortinas. The TD had it on the drivers side. The TF had it on the pass side but he said the motor came from a capri and he's having trouble finding a starter motor for it. Would a Lucas inert..

Datsun L16 Con Rods with smaller bolts

Turns out the conrods I was looking at are the smaller 8mm bolts and not the 9mm I had hoped. Does anyone know if I changed to ARP bolts would there be any issues using the smaller bolts? The car won't be an all out racer but I hope to see some track time in the future and plan to keep the max revs ..

as all youngins wanna do, quite stupidly, is have a stupidly fast car. and ive been thinking about it quite seriously as i have a motor to play with. and have been reading up on as many projects and books as i can get my eyes upon. for thought regards to making big power, should any plans be started..

2L Pinto bottom end gone. New parts or recond engine?

Hi all, I have a Mk2 RS2000 which has a loud ticking noise coming from the engine, bottom end. Not sure what has broken but the car still drives with a decent amount of power. Was wondering if I should get a recond 2L for $3k or buy parts to fix the one I have (plus a 45 weber, cam and efi kit)? ..

if using a cortina pinto?

So what parts from the cortina can be used if putting 2.0 into escort? Is the cortina radiator okay? Will a 1.6 escort single piece prop shaft, clutch cable & speedo cables be okay? Obviously an escort sump is needed. How much do they generally go for? Thanks..
