Cam ident help

Picked up a few spare heads this weekend and have 3 cams the stamping on the end of two is as follows 931906 and on the shaft it says FP4-71 the other has 97R97 Any ideas if they are any good, they don't seem to have much wear...

Engine spec help pls

I've just picked up a pinto second hand and found it has the following, i've only done rough measurements with the ruler my verniers are at work. Cam has markings FP4-71 Pistons 060 bore is about 93mm Piston BTC to TDC is about 78mm The gasket that came off seems thicker than standard and is a felpr..

Mental compression, no power past 4k?

So I sorted out the fireworks display the previous owner had planned for me in the electrics. I take it out for a spin and second gear flat road there is absolutely no power past 4k. I hammers up to 4 grand and then doesn't go anywhere? Checked the compression running 13.0:1 in the cylinders. Would ..

Water pump mod??

October retro ford magazine has a pinto rebuild article. The company Ashton Mobile claim to have modified water pumps that can give gains of 5~6hp!! And they're not telling how, of course. Thoughts?..

pinto piston offset

If im looking at a pinto engine with the flywheel to my right which way should the piston offset be, near or farside as i look at the block? And what happens if its wrong way round?..

Mustang 2.3 pinto differences

Can anyone point out how an American 2.3 pinto engine differs from our 2.0 pinto? Is the flywheel different? Engine mount points? Or accessories? And also, how do they get the extra 0.3 ltrs? Through a different crankshaft? Seems like an interesting prospect......

just bought another motor today and im trying to find out some info on the camshaft thats in it. its part number on the back is KC FR 22. any info would be great cheers..

Pinto with engel cam

Hey guys just started taking apart my pinto engine because it had no compression. It has an ep28 cam in it Am I going to expect it to be a pig to drive around town as it says racing only? And how much extra power should we expect?..

Port matched extractors?

The extractors that came on my pinto are for a TF cortina, Pacemaker and the pipes 'square in' near the flange to match the exhaust port shape. I picked up some no-name extractors to fit escort but they just have round pipes at the flange. How much difference does the port matching make? Are they w..
