Mk2 'tina 1600 GT VIN / Compliance plate help please?

Hi, I have tow Mk2's but my latest is a four door GT which originally came from South Africa. I cant work out how to read it at all. Going by "Decode your VIN" on ClassicFords magazine the engine on the plate is a "C" code - indicating that the car is a 1300 !! Can anybody advise what the plate mean..
