Capri 1974 3l Differential Housing

Would anyone have a diff housing including spider gears for a 3l 1974 Mk1 Capri Salisbury (rear entry)? The number of splines is 16 and the bolt centers of the crown wheel is about 135mm. Also after crown-wheel and pinion to get a 3.22 ratio. Thanks, Jason...

Oil burning

hello all, I changed the oil to Penrite HPR 30 and it has now started burning it. The oil in the car was un known to me prior to the oil change, what are other people useing in there beloved Essex V6 engines? Or maybe the engine has developed some other issue that has caused it to start burning oil...

How much does it cost to engineer a 1600 to a v6 or 302 v8?

Say you've got a good clean shell with a good front end, besides the cost of the motor how much does the whole process cost? Live in vic if that's any difference thanks guys..

Strut Tops

Koni adjustable inserts and ride height spacers etc.

HI all Putting the front end together for second time now using the spacers that came with the inserts. The only problem is the ride height less running gear is higher than most 4x4 at landrover park.. I have tried less spacer and strut nut didnt tighten up on shaft inside strut tops. Since put in..

Convert to electric fuel pump

I am going to convert to an electric fuel pump, have never been keen on the location of the standard pump, ie very close to dizzy etc. Looking at mounting a new pump under the car around the diff, but space seems a little limited due to the exhaust. In legal terms can the pump be mounted in the boot..

'X' code gearbox

Hi all, I was quickly looking over the I.D plates on my V6 Capri today. The gearbox code was 'X' which stated it as a "close ratio" 4 spd gear box. When they say "close ratio" gearbox I can only presume they are talking about the std side loading gearbox with the yawning large gap between 2nd and 3r..
