Front strut top mount differences

I have seen two types of strut mounts on the capris, as shown in the attached photo (I cant figure out how to make it show up inline) Does anyone know why there is such a difference in the top part of the mount is and what affect it has on handling? Brand New MK1 Indicator Stalks
