Gearbox removal

Hey I have to pull the gearbox off a pinto which is all in situ. I don't have a gearbox jack and although I can borrow one I would rather not have to. So is there a good way to split it from the block without the trolley? I was thinking of putting the engine crane inside the car and slinging a rope..

Crank Pulley bolt removal - 1.6 Kent Auto

Taking apart front end - seperating TCA ball joint from strut leg???
