New temp sensor

Hi guys, lost my temp gauge a couple days ago, got a new temp sensor and put it in today. Now my gauge is reading a little on the high side...? Prior to my old one failing completely, the gauge would sit around 1/3 of the gauge but would often drop down to cold when driving (despite new thermostat)...

ford mk2 master cylinder

Probably a silly question but just wanted to clarify, on an escort master cylinder there are three outlets, i assume one is for front one for rear but the one underneath has a smaller inner outlet (not thread size) what is this for? Cheers..
