Valve clearances for 1V 1600 xflow

I've adjusted my valves to the specs from a 1975 haynes manual, (pre ADR27a) which is a high compression 2V engine. The specs were: inlet 0.25mm exhaust 0.55mm. Can someone please give me the specs for my 1976 1V engine? Many thanks in advance..

Saab rims, some help please

I have been getting some mixed information about the fitment of 15" SAAB steel rims to Escorts. From what I can tell, there's 15x5.5 and 15x6. There are two offsets, 35P and 39P. So which variation is needed to fit a standard MK1 escort with no fouling? Thanks..

starter driving me crazy

so ive been trying to get my mk2 back on the road, and im going nuts trying to figure out the starter. will turn key over to start, starter will kick in, but will keep going after key is removed. it will stop when the starter is tapped with a hammer or battery disconnected. have tried 3 different so..

Fitting windows / screens 2 door MK 2 Escort

Hi Guys Not urgent but can anyone let me know just how hard it is to refit side glass and front / rear screens , I am about to look at refitting some. It looks and sounds easy but is it best left to the pro's or as simple as grabbing some para-chord and detergent? Cheers Craig..

Capri 1600 sump crack repair

Hey guys just rebuilt my pinto run in new cam, changed oil etc, etc the thing is it sounds too "clicky" im gonna recheck the follower adjustments anyway will this quiten it down though?? I am aware they sound a little clicky but mines pretty loud Thanks..

Escort MK1 1.3L versus 1.6L

My boy has a 1975 MK1 Escort with the original 1.3L auto engine/geabox within. Can we upgrade to a 1.6L noting he has siezed the engine without having to do too much? Thanks, Ken..
