Someone with machining skills & equipment wanted to machine down strut top spacer

Hi Guys, I am just finishing off my front suspension I need to get the strut top spacer I have machined down 1mm (as per the pics) otherwise the shock will bounce around inside the stut tops. Even though it's only 1mm I want it done properly as if I attack it with the angle grinder I'm sure it won't..

Hey guys, Turning over the newly rebuilt pinto and had it running for about 15 seconds, after it turned off there was a bit of smoke or some sort of mist coming from the front of the engine, prior to this it came out the valve cover breather (it popped off).... Is this cause for concern?..
