Running in tips - Pinto

I fired up a motor I've slowly been building tonight for the first time. Ran it at around 2000-2500 rpm for about 10mins. Anyone got any specifics they do when running in a Pinto? I was planning on firing it up again tomorrow night and getting the timing light on it then it should be ready fo..

Putting Heater Bubble Back on After Rust Repairs

Hi all. Does anybody know whether I should be putting some kind of sealer in the joint between MK1 Escort Heater Bubble and Firewall top prior to filling in spot welds? Not sure how to get the seal so that water does not lie between body and bubble and rust out again. Thanks. Ken..

Sapphire won't Fire

Yesterday we did a general service on the Sapph including changing the phase sensor and distributor cap. When we were finished the car wouldn't fire. It initially cranks and sounds normal then the cranking stops in what sounds like a compression lock. We went back and re-checked the timing setup:..

I took my beast for a drive last night and the ignition light just started to flicker on / off and then it went on continuously for the remainder of my journey getting brighter when I take off at intersections. what could be causing this to occur ? cheers Aaron..

Just stripped a motor down and it seems to be a pretty hot motor by the looks. Its got a cam tech cam, ported head nice valve job etc Pulled the pistons out, they are marked, eb 397 P S and then U.S.A 1 on the other side. They're 30 thou oversize but i think one may not be salvagable as it loo..

New master

i just installed the reconditioned master cylinder. now i flushed out the brake fluid the one person way (submerged rubber hose in B-fluid while pumping through pedal) and its stopping the car again. but still spongey? so yeah just wondering if theres any procedures for new masters?..
