Bending Gear Lever

Hi Guys, I have just installed a race seat in my MK2 and now (due to a permanent injury to my left arm) the gear lever is not in a comfortable place for quick gear changes when I am harnessed in. Spent some time head scratching on the weekend working out best options for clearance on the rears. I can fit them in with some mods to the inner skins, however In future I will probably want the option to run car lower (adjustable) and therefore need more clearance. Diff and gearbox for 1/4 mile??

Once the pinto is in my MK1 i would like to run it over the 1/4. At the moment the standard 4 speed and 4.1 diff makes 1st gear too short.
