From reading these forums. I would like to say thanks for everyones input.I did the t9 oil change on the weekend,gearbox feels great now.I cracked the casing bolts and out came the oil.Castrol syntrans75/85 oil squeeze bottle to fit all good...

Question about gearboxes

G'day guys, Just a few quick questions as I'm upgrading to a five speed. Whats the difference between at T5 and a T9? I've found a sierra T9 5 speed for under a grand which seems pretty reasonable. Wondering if theres anything to look out for or pointers regarding these T9 gearboxe..

Input shaft to bellhousing measurement

Hi All,As the title suggests, I am looking for the distance from the face of the bellhousing to the tip of the input shaft.I dont know if it is flush or if it's below the bellhousing or protrudes past the bellhousing. CheersCraig..

Hi,For those who have reconditioned type 9 g/boxes: The replacement ball bearing for the input shaft comes with a sheet metal shield on the inside! The bearing sits in the front of the case & the shield is on the oil side! It is a shield, not a seal & would let a little oil through to the ba..

toyota w gearbox behind ford I4

Hey fellas just wanting to know the conversion process for a toyota gearbox behind a kent, pinto, zetec etc. I understand they have a 21 spline input and 21 out, wheras the ford gearboxes have 23 spline in. So do i just find a suitable clutch to suit?..
