Hi allJust put 5 speed type 9 in my mk1, wont go into first until warm, used standard manual gearbox oil, what oils are other people using..

From reading these forums. I would like to say thanks for everyones input.I did the t9 oil change on the weekend,gearbox feels great now.I cracked the casing bolts and out came the oil.Castrol syntrans75/85 oil squeeze bottle to fit all good...

Hi,For those who have reconditioned type 9 g/boxes: The replacement ball bearing for the input shaft comes with a sheet metal shield on the inside! The bearing sits in the front of the case & the shield is on the oil side! It is a shield, not a seal & would let a little oil through to the ba..
