AP vs Alcon Brakes

Starting to look at the brake setup for my tarmac rally car. I will be using 15" rims of unknown type so I am assuming that I will be able to get between 300 and 330mm disks. Does the brand of rim make a difference to the size of brakes that can be fitted? What size disks are other 15" ..
