volvo 240 brakes: how good are they?

i have a pair of volvo240 callipers and discs to suit setting on a shelf and rather then going out and buying a set of AP brakes, just wondering how the 240's will go slowing down a 225kw escort, any imput would be appreciated. thanks..

Where to go in Melb to get Laser rotors redrilled to suit the capri hubs

Brake / Suspension Clearance

I am installing Mark 1 Capri struts into a Mark 1 Escort with Volvo 4 pots and vented discs. Clearance between disc and steering rod ball joint is super close. Can anyone advise of a good solution to this problem?..

Ebay Disk Brake Kit

On the old forum we had a thread on this but just a few qu's... I have the Big Brake kit off ebay, even with the Capri struts the rotor is only 2/3mm away from the steering arm, what is the clearance an engineer would want?
