just wondering if anyone has a Zetec rwd sump laying around or one for sale?
The sump i was given is slightly short hitting the oil pick up.
 
just checking if anyone has one they would like to seel before look at alternatives.

Bend the oil pickup pipe or shorten it will be the best way

yes, thats the other option. i have a friend with a weldeing machine and hes going to try and shorten the heigh of the Oil Pick up tube.  The bendy section near the flange hits the bottom of the sump and im unable to screw the sump into place.
will see if this works. 

Ok, when he does shorten the tube, allow about 5mm at the pickup so the oil isn't starved

That'll work fine

Put some dish soap on the weld, block one end with a rag and blow some compressed air through the other to check for pin-hole leaks for peace of mind. Easier to check now than hunt for an oil pressure issue later!

cheers, yes i did that and came up all good

i cleared the moving parts but came across another
issue the neck of the tube near the pick up end is hitting
the internal corner of the sump in the middle

so back to the drawing board, the issue is not the sump i found
it’s the design of the oil pick up tube.

so i’ll play around this weekend and hopefully sort it out

i was getting frustrated so almost forked out on the retroford kit 😬🤦🏻‍♂️

Its a shame they don't just sell the pickup, then you could fab your own metal sump and buy the pickup. Good luck though, I hope you get it working!

i tried to get the bolt and pick separately but they wouldn’t sell it to me unless you purchased the kit.
i guess it’s part of the journey, sorting these things out.
