Very cool, and very close.

Looking forward to seeing it in one (finsihed) colour.

I painted it in a very non dash color, Focus Panther black then mixed in some clear, hopefully it'll pull the shine back just enough to look like an Armour all'd dash top but will sparkle a little in the sun. It's got small grit in there from the windy day we're having, I'll prolly 2000 grit the areas and polish if I get that picky.
At least the windy day has helped send the dust from the room a long way away when I was sweeping and air blowing the room. Primed panels from this morn aren't ready to sand yet, tomorrow it.. and also install the clear tarp over the room opening , I'll make it a shower curtain style so I can escape in a hurry if I need to.
Deano, no, I have a couple of roof wurleys with bathroom fans connected to draw most fumes away with the added filters on them. I wear a 3M double venter mask with added fiber filters, it's been fine so far. Had less filtration when doing the yellow van and was fine after , one thing I don't have is the eye/face shield, suppose I'll just exercise caution when spraying like normal...

Here's the dash painted , still has the ripple effect so am very happy

Deano this was done with that mini spray gun again, I turned up the pressure this time to about 25psi , also noticed the fan adjuster does almost nothing so keep that in mind

Ok this is the rear stone shield, as Lotus Twin Cam has, I painted it in black last week and gave it a rapid fine sanding as I had about 100ml left in the mini gun and this will show how the dash with glint with the light on it. The stone guard was in a patch of sun so had take these pics

Kind of a bit excessive for a under the car item but didn't want to waste the paint!

speedboat metal flake.
Glad the mini gun did well on its test.
I might drain some spray cans so i can put it in the gun to test!

Today was the day to paint as the weather shined , was no wind and sunny skies . Started at about 9.30 to prep the area and jet fire heat the room up to about 24deg so the shell will absorb some heat, I didn't run it while painting as that will cause a small explosion which I didn't want to happen.
First was tack dust coat then 2x full coats but the way the paint went on I could've just gone 1 coat.
Pics are shortly after 2 full coats and there was some overspray floating around still . Shut panels are done after in the arvo when the day warmed up nicely.

So the next plan is to obviously got the car off the rotisserie (after 6 years) , I'll need to find an escort housing as unsure if I've got any left , at worst I'll pull over from another car . Front of getting Capri struts and a wcxm , that'll get the car rolling..

Not much going on, just letting the paint set before I get moving on fitting parts back in , just being careful . A couple of small things I've done is refit the cowl vent, this should've been a simple place and screw it on but it was an hour job. Since I've lost the speed clips or they didn't exist I used rivnuts , they are m4 alloy and funny things is the fitted in the original holes, no drilling, then it's use stainless Allen button screws for that clean look.

Also bolted the guards on so they don't get damaged from leaning against a wall etc, this actually shows a better view of the color

Lastly I installed the boot hinges, and there's a trick to fitting the torsion rods without getting injured installing them. The trick is to not have the hinge bolted in but have the rod in the opposite side and put the hinge side rod in the hinge slots then twist the hinge so the bolts line up in the holes and bolt up , so much simpler

the anodised bits look great against the Area 69 paint.
There are so many colour themes for the rims and stripes you could go, matt black, white obviously.
Gold minitlites would set it off nicely too, and we know they are one of your faves.

Congrats! 6 years in the making.
