Since there was a horse race on yesterday and we still had to work except for 3 mins to tv it, I'm not a horse race follower so it dittn bother me.
After work I did some grafting on the inner arch outer side if that makes sense.. I found out the shape has a reverse hook with a positive rake , took a while to fathom it out.

Only the small bits to go and it's weld in time.. But not till the wobbles in the outer panel get sorted

Big pile of dust and panels after a big sweep the other day !!

Bought a new toy, a air saw.. It will be used along with the other cutlery when chopping panels away , gotta be neater than grinder for stuff like arch dispatching or notching etc.

Deano and Mark, this is the Marty makes Marty broke club 😂. Btw Deano, my shrinker stretcher came today, did yours?
It's going to get installed on the other side of the rotisserie. Yesterday I was swapping the dies over so many times I was getting angry cause it was always the wrong one needed..

Another fast update

This is my last pr of turrits, TURRITS , well they are the same side ones by the cut angle at the bottom, didn't matter as some gets chopped off anyway..
I was looking for the template I've had since doing the Orange mk1 , if I can't find it I'll wing it like normal lol.

yes Marty, my stretcher came on Monday. It looks like a little ripper.
I think i'll try folding a length to 90 degree bend and then compound shrinking/stretching it to use at the inner tub to arch bit. My infill currently isnt as neat as yours, so this might be neater for arch number 2.

Air saw looks the business. I think youve watched too many YT's where they do a chop. A bit of 2"masking tape, and an air saw. Job done.
I want a welding jacket before buying one of those.Sick of getting hot bits go where they shouldnt.

Turrets: is the plan to have no rear leaf springs as well?

Marty, what thickness steel are the turrets?

Hi Mark, the turrets are made from 2mm or close to that thickness . I'm going to get a pattern off them before they're installed so if you want the measurements let me know.

Today I got to some welding of the rear inner tub finalised for welding into it's home , there was lots of shonky welds there along the middle seam due to the original sealer that's sandwiched between the panels decides to burn and contaminate the welding... Live and learn lol.
I had brushed on the red primer before installing the tub..Here's the final pics, I would've got as I go pics but the phone was a boom box playing punk alternative, loudly as I seem to focus better..😎
Used a good amount of black sikaflex to hide and fully seal the the area. Once the stone splatter goes on it'll look like normal..

Looks good Marty, probably better than when new.
I've still got the floor of the Capri in red primer. I had purchased a carpet set for it not thinking I was going to have to fabricate a new tunnel. I should know better by now One day I might do something about it, but I figure its less weight anyway and boy does it sound good
No, all good with the turrets thanks. Mine are in and they came from the UK some time back.

I gave the turrets a measure and came to 1.6mm thick. And still can't find the template so depending on how far I get on the weekend, I might attempt the turret installation.

Today there was a gift from Santa, a big package !

What I found inside was a couple of arches from Deano's van project , now I can play on the other side ..

I've marked out the where it'll be cut back to and did a quick chomp on the car to remove the old arch

.. And

That's about all for now

Not much done this rvo, just some calculations of where the arch sits in relation to the other side,

There's were measured from the first arch to make sure it's not out of whack, especially the orientation/tilt angle.

Here is the rear panel I'll get ready to connect up as soon as the access to the boot is not so critical, ie when I move to working on the roof panel...

Once again I can't thank Deano enough for getting the arches to me so quick , I'll see if I can send you something in return 😎

^^ no need Marty, just paying it forward.

If you keep posting on your build, so I know what i'm doing wrong, we can call it square.
