yes the gauge kit came with electronic sender, so no oil tube make it neater.
I copied the standard brake layout using the one master and 2 circuits, and managed to get the std footpedals to clear inside with the wheel woks, although there is not an abundance of space.
Just adds to the novel steering ergonomics of the van.

The new windscreen is in, and the installer did a great job, I'm very happy how it came out.
Some tricks I picked up, heat the locking strip in a bucket of hot water, soapy water to install it, and on the top corners, use a heat gun to soften still to get it flexible enough. It can be overheated though apparently and melt.
The rubber join was centred, so too the chrome trim:

The old wipers look a bit shagged, and have just have enough splines on the spindles to grip, but not for long.
Looks like my rally sticker covers up the wiped area, so better leave that off till after the rwc I reckon.
Bugger!

I hung both doors back on, having the screen done proper makes it feel like progress has been made, just a bit.

That installer did an awesome job, it looks great! Nice tips on the install too, where did you source the new screen from?

the installer was just a local guy who does alot of rods and old schol stuff.
I got him to source the screen, and the locking strip, I supplied a rare spare rubber.
I figured if it was accidently cracked on installing, it wasnt going to be because i'd supplied a w/s with a fault.

Price was $350 all up, although I did give him an old interior mirror I had, Falcon of some sort.

I had a week off from the car and work, with the flu for this year.
With the windscreen in, and while I'm still playing with wiring, the existing dashpad looked abit average.
It was a fibreglass repro that had been recovered by someone, and had wrinkles, and I thought "Ï can do better than that" despite never recovering a dash before. How hard could it be?

So off with the old skin; and the old contact adhesive remnants:

and recovered using auto vinyl I bought to so the seats with:

I'm pretty happy with how stretchable the material was, and how it turned out. Each side of the cluster shroud was tricky, and the above pic shows the worst bit. If I did it again, I'd probably have a go building up/out the curves a little on the dash itself with some filler, just to make it easier for the vinyl to not have to stretch as far.
At least it has none of that plastic skin with brittle foam underneath to crack, especially in these spots.

couple more pics:

And one with it fitted. Probably doesn't look much different in the pics than before!

Then the instruments surround and dash panels looked shabby, so needed a makeover:

These were all showing  40+ years of suntan, and I wasnt sure how to revive them. In the end, I had some Duplicolour Vinyl spray cans that where for the brown door cards. Ended up being my ideal amount of gloss, without filling the fake grain details with paint.
I taped up the binnacle surround, and redid the silver strip detail also. Apart from some overspray, this came out well too, and doing all the masking up seemed to suggest the black had stuck well to the plastic parts.

Somewhere along the lines the thin wire from the condensor to the coil has died off completely.
Its a bit had to see in the photo, but I dont think it can be fixed.

Looking at prices of a new condenser, and points, a cap, rotor etc, I figured maybe it might be time to go to an electronic conversion instead?
Yesterford have a $95 kit, so I was going to buy a new coil and cap, whilst I was at it.

Only drama is, ideally I'd hope to be able change it over without  significantly changing the static ignition timing.
The engine has a new cam kit installed yet to be run in, as it's currently set, and theoretically should all be timed ready to start from the engine builder.
If my wiring is ok of course!

Actually Marty, I would be open to do dashes it was very rewarding, and I think I could do better job second time around!

Only drama is, I prob wouldn't want to count on the material I have on hand to do another dash yet, as i'm not sure  if I will  end up resewing the seats and possibly the 2 door cars and footwell panels as well, or just the seats.

I thought you were going to go flocked!
