finally a little progress with the van.
It now has a running pinto of sorts, after some time yesterday.
I made a few rookie mistakes, but all in all, a good day. The timing was roughly set, had, spark, fuel in the carb bowls, it would turn over nice but not really fire. Of course I had left the vaccum hose from the inlet for the brake booster unplugged, so it had no vacuum.
Plug it up, and jumped 3 feet when it firsed on the next hotwire.
Sounded pretty fruity too with no exhaust.

The new clutch has arrived, so time to get the flywheel off and machined.
I also finally found an Escort sump to go on later., so that got a clean up as well.

tidy enough to see any oil leaks in the future.
Once I can clear some shed space clear, the body will go back on the spit, to finish off underneath, check the gearbox mount points, and general tidyoff and do the guard bottoms, and bottom paint.
Then when the time comes, I'm thinking it might be easiest to take the struts and crossmember off, and lower the car over the complete engine/gearbox/suspension combo...?
