I do think gold does the detail in those wheels the most justice. Progress is looking good.

OK, has been a while.........[:I]

Recieved my GSXR throttle bodies today so I can begin on the inlet manifolds to mount them to a DCOE pattern. They're from a 2000 - 2003 GSXR750/1000 so they can be seperated into individual assemblies and spaced accordingly to match the 90mm bore centrs of the weber mounts. Currently the centres are 80mm but manufacturing new spacers to go between each assembly will fix that

The bores taper from a 49.28mm inlet to 41.75 on the butterfly end so they should be plenty for my mild Pinto. I just need to remove the secondary butterflies and plug the holes in the body which is a simple task as they're not required. I picked these up REALLY cheap as they're just "blanks" with no injectors / fuel rails etc. They will be fine for now as I have another full set coming soon

I have got prices for the laser cutting of the flanges for the alloy manifolds which will attach via silicon hose. I'm trying to make this as asthetically pleasing as practical also

Here are some initial pics of them and I will post others as I progress.

Spent about an hour dismantling the throttle bodies to get them to the state below - plus 30mins in the hot wash at work

I have removed the secondary butterflies and shaft which was pretty straight forward along with the associated linkages.

I estimate I'll require 10mm "packers" to get the correct DCOE spacing as mentioned previously. The only real problem is figuring out how to link up all the individual butterfly shaft linkages with the wider spacing [8]

OK, had a bit of time at work tonight so I have an update.

Spacing the individual bodies is easy enough but linking up the butterfly shafts when it is seperated by 10mm was the challenge for this evening. I want to keep it looking a factory as possible - just riveting a piece on to span the gap is not an option [B)] My apologies for the average pics as the work camera is a piece of poo pooe! [:(!]

Here are all the bits for one section. 3x10mm steel spacers (may remake in alloy) and 1x10mm brass shaft extension.

I just need to replicate this onto the other sections and that's done I will then move onto the alloy flanges etc to mount them to the DCOE manifold.

Well, my topic actually still exists after a year in the wilderness[:u]

I'm approaching the stage where my RS shell needs to be prepped and painted so I'm looking for anyone in the trade is willing to take it on as a private project of maybe a panel shop worth recommending. After enquiring at a couple of places it seems "restoration" is a dirty word! Would greatly appreciate a situation where i could assist in the messy labour intensive work to satisfy my "DIY" spirit as well as helping the pocket (but not essitial).

Oh, MUST BE IN Adelaide [:I]

If anyone can help please let me know.

OK, shell is home in the garage again as it has been at a friends place for some time.

Will be having a go at the rust in the top of the rear quarters in the boot recess area. I will post pics along the way of my progress - good or bad!

Next will be finding a Zetec to dummy up all the mounts etc and possibly a new tunnel as I doubt there will be too much room for the steel case Celica box in the manual tunnel [:u] Plus being able to raise the box as high as possible will aid engine placement and clearance over the Xmember etc.

Once thats all done it's time for the panel shop to strut their stuff [:x)]

OK, 4 hours @ Upullit and $193 later I have a 2.0L Zetec for the RS.

Well chuffed
