Clutch hard line done - image on previous page shows the top section and this goes to a chassis mounted bracket to support the flexible hose. Final hose will be a braided item. Discovered my original pinto clutch was too tall to fit the Celica input shaft so had to find an alternative that would cope with some extra grunt. Ended up with a HD SR20 cover mated to a Toyota clutch plate. I also have a roller bearing inner race to allow the Toyota box to mate with the OEM Ford spigot bearing (thanks Matt 👍).

Plus - I wonder what I can put together from this pile of parts 😉

Thanks Matt. I think I’ve got it sussed. What did you use - Corsa / Astra EPAS? I was going to use those but found the Suzuki Ignis / Holden Cruze are much more compact and it all seems to fit together well so far. As I have a digital speed input available it will also be variable assistance which will be nice. Hoping to have it done soon.

Hoping also to get the engine off for machining soon.

Outer column all but sorted and unlike some kits I’m incorporating the factory ignition barrel and lock. Now onto the shaft.

Almost there. Just need to chop the original shaft and add it to the ends of the motor. Installed and pretty happy as can barely notice it once shroud installed.

Hi Paul,
That is a very neat piece of work!!  I take it, from what I've read so far, that you have got an Electric Power steering system in place ??  What a great  idea!  Len

Hi Len. Yes I’ve adapted the original Escort column to Electric Power Assisted.
