It's coming along very nicely Paulie - should be a very clean car once it's finished. Certainly looking forward to checking out your progress in the flesh come June. I'm sure I'll be "made" to get my hands dirty while I'm over there!

That is a very very well done job. Lots of paitence required but will be well worth it in the end.

Was at the hardware store the other day and spotted a cheap can of gold wheel paint so it got me thinking.......

After a couple of minutes I came up with this comparison

To be perfectly honest I had already discarded the classic gold centre as being "done before" but after seeing it against the black I think it's my preferred option at this stage. Placed on a white car I think it should look pretty sweet.

When Sean places his order for new wheels my gold V4's will be even less common

Sorry Paul, I think I still prefer the black in this instance. Ive never been a fan of gold rims on a white car (but thats just me I guess). Black, charcoal or silver/grey on a white car would be my choice.

You did do a nice job of painting that wheel though

I agree with Sean, but its more because I'm not a fan of gold rims, and I'm a massive fan of black centres.. I'll be inetersted to see how the colours compare on the car, I think with a white car the black might look better

Oh bugger!

Well, I guess I'm painting each pair with the alternative colour and placing them on either side

At least it's only a 5 minute job to change until I confirm my final choice.

Thanks for your opinions lads

I have considered PS Phil but sometimes it does not give a true to life representation unless you play around with lighting etc. The way I work around in PS it's quicker to paint the wheels

Oh, the photos do the painting a major favour - it aint that good up close Sean [:I] I personnally don't mind gold on a white car but that's me.........

Paul so far Im still on the Charcoal or a dark silver train. Although out of the black and gold I prefer gold.

I have a set of rims at powdercoaters now being painted silver pearl, so hopefully once I get some paint on this RS I can send you a photo to see how good/bad it contrasts.
