Thanks guys. I made all the hard brake lines the other day and now about to strip and clean the R31 calipers before assembly. Will need a custom pair of hoses too and was going braided but as it's a street car rubber will do.

Small update. Cleaned, painted and reassembled the rear calipers with new seals etc. Just waiting for the hand brake levers and stand-off to be plated and all done. Can finish the brake line install once I have the spring seat rubbers and can mount the springs and bump stops.

U bolts plated, new spring pads and reassembled the rear end. A little annoyed as I think I may have had the rubber brake lines made a little short so will need to have remade 😡. Onto the axles next.

Disc brake conversion checked ok. Just need to remove axles again, new bearings and some paint and it's almost done.

Amazing what a bit of blasting and plating can do to the appearance of panel fittings 👍
Decided to move away from the original gold plating as it doesn't really fit with the basic overall theme of the car.

certainly a nice neat finish, Paul. I was lucky in that I had access to a bead blaster to do the cleaning but we haven't had a plater of any sort here for 20 years, so painting is the go,  too expensive to send away all the time, apart from not knowing a reliable plater elsewhere. Len

I have a decent size blasting cabinet at work and a decent local plater.

Killing time till the painted shell returns but thinking this might work. BA fuel pump with modular pot into the standard tank to keep the engineer happy by having no fuel components within the cabin / boot area.

Might as well use a Ford assembly for the job if it fits, are you able to find out flow capacity, seeing as it supplies a 6 cylinder and you have a 4. Does the Focus use a similar setup, tank size and flow rate might be better matched to the engine.  Len
